Sound piece created from original field recordings of PA systems made by the author between 1990 and 2010 in: Atoka (USA), Beijing (China), Cologne (Germany), Foz do Iguaçú (Brazil), Haltwhistle (UK), Hong Kong (China), Kita-Kyushu (Japan), Kyoto (Japan), Manaus (Brazil), Pico Turquino (Cuba), Riga (Latvia), Sagaing (Burma), San Antonio (USA), San Francisco (USA), Singapore (Singapore), Vienna (Austria).
Composed, recorded, mixed and mastered at "mobile messor" (Amsterdam), January-February 2011.

Piece originally created for the exhibition "MetroSound", organized by Pensart (www.pensart.org) for the event "JustMad" (www.justmad.es), with sound pieces broadcasted through PA systems of several subway stations in Madrid, February 17th-20th 2011.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Francisco López (Madrid, ES, b. 1964).
Internationally recognized as one of the main figures in the realm of audio art and experimental music. His experience in the field of sound creation and work with environmental recordings covers a period of forty years, during which he has developed an impressive sound universe that is completely personal and iconoclastic and based on a profound listening to the world. He has realized hundreds of sound installations, projects with field recordings, and concerts/performances in over seventy countries all over the world, including the main international concert halls, museums, galleries and festivals, such as: National Music Auditorium (Madrid), PS1 Contemporary Art Center (New York), Museum of Modern Art (Paris), International Film Festival (Rotterdam), Festival des Arts (Brussels), EMPAC (Troy, USA), Darwin Fringe (Darwin, Australia), Institute of Contemporary Art (London), Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires, Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona, Center of Contemporary Art (Kita-Kyushu, Japan), National Museum Reina Sofía (Madrid), Spanish Pavillion of the International Expo Zaragoza (Spain), etc. His extensive catalogue of sound pieces (with live and studio collaborations with hundreds of international artists) has been released by over 400 recording labels / publishers all over the world. Among other prizes, López has been awarded five times with honorary mentions at the prestigious Ars Electronica Festival (Austria) and is the recipient of a Qwartz Award (France) for best sound anthology.
