Esta exposición abarca parte de la obra realizada por la artista Pilar Lara (España, 1940-2006) entre los años 1987 y 2000. Dichas piezas tienen su punto de partida en un archivo fotográfico de la Primera Guerra Mundial, del que mostraremos algunos de estos documentos como material de vitrina. Cajas de puros, dominós, tableros de ajedrez, e incluso la reja de una ventana, entre otros objetos cotidianos, son manipulados para dotarlos de nuevos significados, abriendo una reflexión en el espectador sobre las preocupaciones que atraviesan su imaginario. Temas como la Guerra, el envejecimiento, la memoria histórica y la condición femenina son interrogados a lo largo del trabajo de la artista.

"Ella habla de construir utopías porque en muchas de sus obras realmente lo que plantea es un deseo, habla de eso que quiere alcanzar, a veces a través de la denuncia, otras del afecto, del recuerdo, de la ensoñación…Lara no falsea la realidad, la hace más humana".

This exhibition includes part of the work produced by the artist Pilar Lara (Spain, 1940-2006) between 1987 and 2000. These pieces have their departing point in a photographic archive of the World War I, from which we will show some of these documents as showcase material. Cigar boxes, dominoes, chess boards, and even the grille of a window, among other everyday objects, are manipulated to give them new meanings, opening a reflection in the viewer on the concerns that runs through her vision. Themes such as war, aging, historical memory and the feminine condition are questioned throughout the artist's work.

"She speaks of building utopias because in many of her works what she really proposes is a desire, she speaks of what she wants to reach, sometimes through denouncement, sometimes through affection, through memory, through reverie...Lara does not falsify reality, she makes it more human”.
