Vive y trabaja en Vigo, España

Licenciada en Bellas Artes por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, y doctorada en la Universidad de Salamanca donde fue becaria de

investigación del CSIC. De 1991 a 1993 fue profesora en el Departamento de Dibujo de la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Desde 1997 es profesora titular de Universidad del área de conocimiento de «Escultura», del Departamento de Expresión Artística de la Universidad de Vigo en el campus de Pontevedra, trabajo que combina con la creación artística. En 2020 recibió la beca de la Academia de España en Roma donde desarrolló el proyecto “Cruces y navajas”.

Bermejo es considerada una de las artistas centrales y con mayor

personalidad plástica del panorama del arte español de los últimos

treinta años, y ha sido pionera en otorgar al dibujo el papel principal

de su producción desde sus primeras exposiciones. Consecuente siempre con sus planteamientos conceptuales y estéticos, sus trabajos de gran formato, realizados con grafito, pastel negro y/o gouache sobre papel son de una extrema calidad.

Su obra ha sido expuesta en diversas instituciones nacionales e internacionales como el CAB de Burgos, MUSAC de León, Museo ABC en Madrid,  European Central Bank de Frankfurt,  el Instituto Cervantes de Berlín, Nueva York y Pekin, la Sala Alcalá 31 y el MNBA de Buenos Aires.

Su obra figura en importantes colecciones como las del ARTIUM Vitoria, Museo MARUGAME-HIRAI, Marugame, Japón,  Fundacion Caja Madrid, Fundación Helga de Alvear, Cáceres, Colección Circa XX Pilar Citoler, Diputación de Zaragoza, Colección Banesto, Colección Banco de España o la Colección Arco IFEMA Madrid.

Lives and works in Vigo, Spain

Graduate in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid, and PhD from the University of Salamanca, where she was a research fellow at the CSIC. From 1991 to 1993 she was a lecturer in the Drawing Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid. Since 1997 she has been a full university lecturer in the area of knowledge of ‘Sculpture’ in the Department of Artistic Expression at the University of Vigo on the Pontevedra campus, work which she combines with artistic creation. In 2020 she received a grant from the Spanish Academy in Rome where she developed the project ‘Crosses and knives’.

Bermejo is considered one of the central artists with the greatest artistic personality in the Spanish art scene of the last thirty years, and has been a pioneer in giving drawing the main role in her production since her first exhibitions. Always consistent with her conceptual and aesthetic approaches, her large format works, made with graphite, black pastel and/or gouache on paper, are of extreme quality.
