CONCHA JEREZ. MEDICIONES DE TIEMPOS | CONCHA JEREZ. MEASUREMENTS OF TIME

En el marco de APERTURA 2021 se inauguró la exposición de Concha Jerez en Galería Freijo. Esta muestra formó también parte del recorrido OFF de PROYECTOR/Festival de Videoarte 2021. 

Desde principios de los años 80, tanto el concepto de Medida/Medición como los diversos conceptos de Tiempo, han sido temas de reflexión constante que Concha Jerez ha tratado en su obra desde distintos ángulos.

La exposición tiene como contenido la presentación de toda una serie de piezas centradas en la relación entre estos conceptos como MEDICIONES DE TIEMPOS. 

Muchas de las obras que se presentan tuvieron su origen en Instalaciones o Intervenciones realizadas por Concha Jerez para lugares específicos de diversos lugares del mundo, habiendo surgido piezas como residuos de dichas intervenciones. 

Asimismo, hay que señalar que, en la elaboración de muchas de las piezas, la autora también ha llevado a cabo diversas acciones, en su mayoría privadas, cuyos residuos se han integrado como parte del proceso.

Piezas como TIEMPO LÍMITE INTERIOR (1988), MEDIDA (1986), UNIDADES DE INTERFERENCIA (1994), CAMINANDO ENTRE (2007) y QUE NOS ROBAN LA MEMORIA (2012), tienen su origen en Instalaciones.

Otras como XM3 DE CIUDAD REAL (1991), RESIDUOS DE UTOPÍAS ROTAS (1999) y SOPA DE ESTRELLAS (2021) surgen de acciones privadas realizadas por la artista. 

Otras obras surgen directamente como piezas que interfieren en contenidos de los medios de comunicación, como 1 PÁG DEL NEW YORK TIMES= 100 PÁGS, DE ESTÉTICAS (1982), INTERFERENCIA EN UN MEDIO. El País (1998) e INGREDIENTES DE MENÚ DEL DÍA (2021).
Finalmente, el RETRATO MENTAL DE MARCEL DUCHAMP (1991).

In the framework of APERTURA 2021, the opening of Concha Jerez's exhibition at Freijo Gallery took place. This exhibition was also part of the OFF itinerary of PROYECTOR/Video Art Festival 2021. 

Since the early 1980s, both the concept of Measurement/Measuring and the various concepts of Time have been subjects of constant reflection that Concha Jerez has dealt with in her work from different perspectives.
The content of the exhibition is the presentation of a whole series of pieces centred on the relationship between these concepts as MEASUREMENTS OF TIME.
Many of the works on display have their origin in installations or interventions carried out by Concha Jerez for specific places in different parts of the world. Through these installations, other pieces have emerged as residues of these interventions. It should also be noted that in the elaboration of many of the works, the author has also carried out various actions, mostly private, the residues of which have been integrated as part of the process.
